The Chef's Collective for Food Justice
Going against the grain to deliver a farm to table experience for all

Our Mission

Insurgo harnesses the power of localization to secure food access for high-need communities. Our goal is to merge local farms, local restaurants, and local Chefs with local residents to sponsor environmental sustainability and economic growth.

Our Story

Founded in Uptown Manhattan to address local food insecurity, Insurgo is a community collective committed to nurturing the farm to table movement in low-income neighborhoods throughout the country.

While low-income communities in New York are eager to change eating and food purchasing habits, education and a widening income inequality gap stall change. A scarcity of organic retailers and restaurants combine with high prices to limit the market for environmentally sustainable foods.

Insurgo partners with local farms, restaurants, chefs, and development agencies to source and serve organic food using innovative cooking techniques. We provide local communities with practical knowledge and financial means to eat from farm-to-table, from field-to-fork.
